A day full of vitality starts with a cup of coffee! Imaging that you just bought a cup of hot coffee on the way to work and filled it in a take-out paper cup with a lid, looking at the phone intently, and wanted to take a sip of coffee, this strange design turned out to betray my trust, well, sprinkle the coffee all over my clothes.
Design should have solved this kind of problems, but the design of the hot coffee lids has always been unsatisfactory. We rarely think about this inconspicuous element, except for a few curses when we are accidentally sprinkled over.
Part of the reason is that no one has yet created the perfect cup lid, and designers are still working hard to overcome this problem.
For such a bland product, innovations can be said to emerge in an endless stream, and all of these have been registered by the US Patent Office. Each new design must be significantly different from the existing design before it can be granted a patent.
Although we have collected the total number of coffee cup lids, there are more new designs in the Patent Registry that we have never seen before.
